The Ardent Angler Guide Service, Milford, N.J. (267-253-5290): Raritan Bay still producing large numbers of small striped bass…clams are the best bait…a few fish weighing in the mid-teens taking bunker chunks, but the consistent bite for bigger fish hasn't started yet…winter flounder fishing has slowed a bit due to colder weather…Navesink River and extreme back end of the Raritan Bay producing the most fish …successful anglers are chumming and plunging the muddy flats during the slower portions of the tide…Delaware River anglers still reporting small schools of herring and shad around Trenton…flutter spoons and darts have been producing…striped bass are hot on the tails of these migrating shad and herring…larger stripers are very finicky right now, only taking a live fresh herring.
